Incremental Profile Forming: Computer Vision System
I developed laser line sensor measurements and alignment methods for in-process monitoring of tube forming.
Incremental Profile Forming (IPF) shapes tubes through coordinated tool and tube motion. Reliable in-process geometry measurements are needed to improve the accuracy of the existing open-loop process.
What I built: I developed a measurement workflow using laser line sensors, checked sensor accuracy against known standards, established alignment procedures, and transformed local measurements into a shared reference frame. The work provides a foundation for process monitoring and future control.
