DMG MORI LT30: Installation and Air System

Machine delivery, utilities, commissioning preparation and a dedicated compressed-air system.

I coordinated the DMG MORI LT30 installation with Facilities, riggers and the machine supplier, from delivery-route measurements to commissioning preparation. I also designed its compressed-air delivery system.

Delivery and commissioning

  • Measured and labeled route obstacles, checking an approximately 90 in transport height against 92 in minimum clearance.
  • Coordinated riggers, hatch protection, equipment relocation and delivery access. The machine arrived on July 30, 2026.
  • Led Facilities preparation for HVAC readiness, temporary door removal and electrical shutdowns.
  • Coordinated the 30 A to 50 A power upgrade, including transformer delivery, wiring, disconnect and fuses, and worked with Facilities, electricians and DMG MORI on commissioning and phase rotation checks.

Compressed-air system

  • Designed filtration, oil removal, desiccant drying and pressure regulation.
  • Specified a 15 SCFM dryer, afterfilter and shutoff/vent valve for servicing.
  • Designed strut and pegboard mounting with brackets, spacers and dryer supports.
  • Specified 3/8-in connections, hoses and machine couplings, and coordinated air and argon parts procurement.
